Monday Mood Board #7…Farm Tables

Farm Tables

We've always loved a good farm table...It inspires gathering
around with friends & family to share food gathered fresh from the garden, sharing stories & lingering into the night.

We've been planning to build one for our breezeway
turned dining room ever since we bought The Farmhouse. But now
with Tin Roof Farmhouse {VINTAGE RENTALS} business taking off
we realize there is a need for unique farm tables
for our rental inventory.

We have a little different vision for farm tables than the standard dark-stained tables. Most rentals seem to fit into this category & it's just not our style. So we are planning to build a prototype & start renting these tables in the summer of 2015.

Here's a little inspiration board
of the look & feel we're going for...
Simple ~ Rustic ~ Natural ~ Fresh ~ Farmhouse Chic

Five Faves for Friday…Props for an Engagement Photo Shoot

Did you just get engaged?
Maybe over the holidays
or Valentine's Day…
If so & you're planning an engagement shoot
there's more to think about than just a photographer.
What do you want the images to reflect? Do you want to keep
them simple or do you want to tell a story?
Props can help you tell your unique story. Just make sure it
is personal & authentic. They should capture
a special moment in time, but also be timeless.

Here are a few items that you might want to incorporate
into your session. And find more on our Pinterest board "engagement shoot inspiration".

1. Suitcases & Trunks

this perfectly chippy trunk makes the image
so much more adorable…don't ya think?

5. Signage

a simple message using Scrabble letters
"FOREVER"

I LOVE the sign
& the fabulous victorian settee placed in an orchard

And definitely take advantage of this photoshoot to get your save-the-date image to send out to guests…
Look at this cute idea with the chalkboard tin cans on the bike.

Wedding Chicks

But, most important stay true to yourself & share your love
for each other. This is a precious moment in time
that will be captured forever. Writing this post makes me want to schedule an "engagement photo shoot" for our 3rd anniversary since we never had one done. We'll see!

If you're in Northern California looking for vintage prop rentals, check out our rental page & our Instagram page for all of the newest additions! We're adding items daily.

What are you going to incorporate into your photo shoot?

Wedding Trends for 2014…Unique Cake Toppers

The first Wedding Trend of 2014 that I shared was of
Naked Cakes
See post here.

Luckily, to top your gorgeous cake there are so many more options these days besides the standard stiff bride & groom in a
gown & tux. Not only do these not resemble most modern couples these days they also feel a bit childish in a funny way as well.

Lucky for you ~ you have so many fun choices ~ Enjoy!

Cute scrabble words

So many fun bunting flags with or without words

Gorgeous fern, flower & dragonfly cutout

Stylish wooden banners

Petite clay hearts with your initials & wedding date

And glitter makes everything better; right!?!

Originally found on Tumbler with no source, but similar (or maybe the same) hearts can be found at

More flags perfect for a nautical wedding

Or keep it super simple with elegant candles

Or a perfect pile of succulents!

One of these toppers might be the perfect option as well for your engagement party, shower or rehearsal dinner that might be a bit less formal. Either way, I love all the options that abound.

Find a ton of options on Etsy or DIY them yourself…
Or if that's too much, let us make them for you. We love a fun DIY project to enhance your cake.

Wedding Trends for 2014…Naked Cakes

A new feature for the blog…
Wedding Trends for 2014

I love the understated, elegant yet rustic
look of
naked cakes.

Let these images show their beauty…

three-tiered beauty with overflowing fruit

chunky rustic woodland cake filled with berries &
decorated with rosemary, lavender & a well-placed pinecone

simple yellow cake with a few well placed flowers
on a gorgeous vintage glass cake stand

carrot cake with caramel drizzle
sitting on a rustic pine slab cake stand

white & chocolate layers with strawberries & succulents

and gorgeous perfection with a dusting of powdered sugar

And can I also say how happy I am to see the cupcake has run its course on the wedding cake table...Would you consider a naked caked for your wedding or shower?

Cheers ~ Erica
