25 Days of Christmas ~ Days 7 - 13

It's definitely been an interesting holiday season so far...

We got a blanket of snow here at The Farmhouse which made

it easy to hunker down & decorate a few corners of the house.

Here's a re-cap from the past week...

My favorite vintage tree ~ green & sparkly in a galvanized bucket

The sunshine finally peaked out ~ one of our pines was glowing

A corner decorated in our guest bedroom ~ one area without chaos

The snow dusted a wagon wheel ring that we found on the property

I got a little crafty ~ thyme, cranberries & a mason jar

Finally got out & hit a new thrift shop ~ all 3 for less than $5

Our Viking range in the garage ~ soon to be in our kitchen

A stack of silver trays ~ so pretty with the perfect patina

Our First Snow of the 2013 Winter Season

 We've been hunkered down here at The Farmhouse since it

snowed last Friday...Although we're definitely getting a

little stir crazy we've stayed busy working on the house.

My sweetie has spent many hours with a headlamp on

checking on the temperature inside the pump house

(see image below). It froze three nights in a row. We now know

that we need to re-do the pump house to better insulate

our water pump from the well. In addition to insulation

we hope to side it with galvanized metal, add a little deck

& outdoor shower & tub.

 We continued on to walk to the Post Office & local store about a mile down the highway...

 The snow is gorgeous, but we're ready for it to melt away & get back to "normal" conditions here in the foothills.
