You're Invited!! The Barn Open House

We've been working really hard around The Farmhouse to get

The Barn, our little shack out back, pulled together.

(It actually used to be a horse tack room with only 2 walls,

so we've come a long way.)

We plan to use this space as the

Tin Roof Farmhouse studio which will house

some of our {VINTAGE RENTAL} collection.

We'll still use Farm to Table Catering's tasting room

as our showroom to meet clients, but

we'll open The Barn up once or twice a year to

highlight new inventory,

create styled vignettes,

showcase other local wedding vendors,

meet new vendors & brides-to-be

& chat about how

Tin Roof Farmhouse can help create

your unique vision for your

wedding, event, client or photoshoot.

Our first OPEN HOUSE will be on

Sunday May 31st, 2015

from

12-4pm

We'll keep you posted on the amazing vendors

that will be joining us, the fun giveaway we have planned

& sneak peeks of some of the new inventory

we'll be highlighting.

We hope you can make it up to Grass Valley

for an inspiring day at The Barn!

A New Venture with Some Rad Chicks at OFFtract

Last month I ventured out to Reno

for a little photoshoot, but it wasn't like

any styled shoot I had done before…

I reached out to the ladies of offTRACT a year ago via Instagram

because I saw a super cool bohemian picnic shoot they

were working on & wanted to be a part of the fun.

Well, after staying in touch via social media they 

reached out to find out if I wanted to join their team of contributors to be a guest blogger.

And of course I said yes! After freaking  out a bit

hoping I'd be able to fit it in with my schedule since I can barely keep up with my own blog

& if I could live up to their bad ass site.

So I'll be contributing a blog a month

along with 13 other contributors highlighting their passions.

Every quarter the ladies that created OFFtract

get everyone together to do a marathon of mini shoots

for each blog post.

I was able to meet a bunch of lovely & creative ladies

that all had amazing projects that will be highlighted over

the next few months.

So my first post will be focused on a tea party baby shower…

Parisian Engagement Styled Shoot

I'm excited to be able to share the sweet Valentine's

styled shoot that Katie of Katie White Photography

& I pulled together a few weeks back.

It was published on Love and Lavender over the weekend

for Valentine's Day & I couldn't be more thrilled.

We originally planned to do a dramatic shoot in the snow,

with a long red gown, elegant hair & make-up…

Well, as you may know…

It's been sunny and in the 60's and 70's up here in the

Sierra foothills lately, so there was a change of plans.

We quickly shifted plans and created a sweet

French-inspired Valentines Proposal and Engagement Styled Shoot.

We’re lucky to live in such a picturesque town

so we chose the Broad Street Bistro and downtown Nevada City

as the backdrop for the shoot.

And how lucky were we that we got a 10 minute window for

a shot with the sweetest little vintage Riley Elf

that fit in just perfectly with our European theme!

Thanks to Erin Thiem of Outside Inn for making this happen.

The couple took a stroll about town to get an ice cream

from Treats where the sweet proposal took place.

They came back to the Bistro to celebrate with a champagne toast using our Depression Glass Coupes

& our Champagne Bucket in one of our Plant Stands.

The Alexa Cafe Table & Angelo Bistro Chairs were the

perfect backdrop for their engagement celebration.

The bistro table was complete with our

Mix-n-Match China, Silverware, Teacup & Saucers

and pretty floral hankies as napkins.

And look how sweet our Angelo Bistro Chairs look all dressed up!

 We also styled a dessert station with a simple backdrop of pretty pink tulips in Vintage Bottles and our Addison Vanity staged with an assortment of sweets.

in front of our delicate backdrop was my favorite creation

Styled Shoot Sneak Peak…Boho Woodland Wedding Inspiration

What an amazing way to end the wedding season...

With a gorgeous Styled Shoot

capturing the beauty of the foothills

& incorporating an amazing group of local vendors.

I feel so blessed to have met some amazing wedding vendors this past year since moving up to Grass Valley, CA.

I started working with Jennifer & Carlos at

Farm to Table Catering in the Spring

& they brought me into the world of foothills weddings.

From there I met the lovely Katie of Katie White Photography

& we knew instantly that we wanted to collaborate

on a styled shoot. Since she was originally from Sonoma,

she had stayed busy with weddings in the Wine Country

& hadn't really marketed herself as a Gold Country Photographer.

So we were the perfect fit. Her from Sonoma & me from Marin.

Both of us wanting to highlight the beauty

& flourishing wedding industry in our new community.
